Get to know the Catalan Statistics Society

The Catalan Statistics Society (SoCE) is the society that wants to collect the initiatives of the professionals of statistics in Catalonia to improve the conditions of the statistical work, research and analysis of data in all its forms.

The SoCE is a modern society, founded in 2010, linked to the Institute for Catalan Studies (IEC). One of the characteristic features of statistics is its enormous relation with many areas of research and knowledge. That’s why SoCE is made up of professionals, researchers and academics who have come together with the aim of defending statistics as a tool for multidisciplinary analysis in a wide range of sectors.

So our society brings together professionals from various fields, such as Biology, Mathematics, Economics and Psychology, among many others. That we want to work together to make the Society a reference body in everything that has to do with statistics in Catalonia, both theoretical and applied.

Our goal is to promote activities that help the dissemination and better knowledge of statistics as an academic discipline and as a professional activity.
